Shortages of flu vaccinations

Posted on okt 27, 2020

Due to a high demand for flu vaccinations by the COVID-19 virus, despite a larger order by our practices, there is a shortage of flu vaccines. This applies to almost all GP practices in the Netherlands.

We therefore urge healthy people aged 60 to 69 years to initially refrain from a flu vaccine. State Secretary Blokhuis decided this after advice from the RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment). In this way, at least people with a medical indication and vulnerable people aged 70 years and older can receive the flu vaccination.

In the coming months it will become clear how many more vaccinations we can obtain. We will keep you informed about this.

So are you healthy and have you been invited only based on your age (60-69 years) and have you not yet had a flu vaccination? We ask you to wait until further notice.
